    Indeed.

Trump accomplishes in a day what other politicians accomplish in a year of back and forth.

None of this stuff is as complicated as the people who get paid to prolong and delay it would have you believe.

I agree with you on the J6 pardons. He went too far when pardoning the folks who were convicted of assaulting officers. I don’t know how many there were, and they did serve time, but it’s a bad decision.

If there is anything project 2025 stated that has been proven true over the past week, it’s that a Republican president can’t get much done with a vast Democrat civil service.  I fully believe that the Medicaid portal was shut down last week in an act of malicious compliance with the funding pause mandate.

I don’t think options in the private sector are superior, and if the administration prevents hiring former employees as contractors, I don’t see many taking the deal.

    hopefully I’m wrong.

There is a gulf of difference between a leader saying they made decisions consistent with the situation, policy, and recent history; and a leader saying decisions that possibly allowed the fire to get out of control were the “right” decisions when resources were in reserve.

I agree that Monday morning quarterbacking is distasteful but then so is arrogance.

I don’t like language like “retribution” at all. If the best improvement is to look forward and stop the politicization of the FBI, then we should hope for that.

retribution implies turnabout is fair play. That’s childish. The FBI has been abusive.

People forget that this little board exists because the freedom fighters over at a different board just shut down all off topic discourse.

I think these fires are a perfect storm scenario. Wind, fire, drought. And incompetent preparation.

PJP2 had a really high profile during the Cold War. He did transcend Catholicism in my view.

    It’s longevity.

The one that sticks out to me is HW Bush. He led the CIA and had a relatively inauspicious presidency, followed by a quiet post presidency (meaning he didn’t launch the Bush global initiative and seek celebrity…just like his son).  I wouldn’t have thought that would score most admired points (and yes, I admired him at times though have revised my view of neocon republicans in recent years.).

Who really cares?  It has become a mockery of the notion of honor.

Just rewatched the video of hillary asking the Chinese to find Trump’s tax returns. What a joke.

    It’s called plausible deniability.

When your libbie friends say things like “there’s no evidence of that, even the president says he hasn’t seen evidence of it!” You can refer to this.

“No evidence” is the modern refuge of people who are willfully blind.

Totally coincidental to your post I ran across the Yellowstone volcano doc on max last night. Yeah if that erupts, we are pretty much screwed.
