ParticipantI was already a practicing dentist in the 1930`s. FDR and I were good buddies.
Will you be a guest at my 117th birthday celebration? If you misbehave, I hope the police will come and haul you off to the drunk tank to sleep it off. Just don`t tip over my wheelchair. I promise the party will not be in Seattle!
Rocky17
ParticipantPossibly, the police should just strike like other union workers since progressives love union workers who strike. They want to defund the police but at the same time demand they work 84 hours per week. WTF

ParticipantSeattle`s leaders are a real hot mess.
They have no idea what to do or how to lead. I wonder what voters think.
Rocky17
ParticipantDo not need to have a legal background to know one does not shoot someone dead for running away for being drunk, stealing a taser or fighting with officers. No capital crime was committed and no one`s life was in danger. The man who died was entirely wrong but his misdeeds did not rise to the level of being shot dead by police trying to get away in my opinion. If there are other mitigating circumstances, you did not state them. At the very least, if the officer thought the crime warranted stopping the criminal via use of force, he could have shot him to wound and not kill.
Burning down the Wendy`s is ridiculous and the act of someone criminal and stupid beyond discussion.

ParticipantWhat is a Trumpkin? Is it a cross between a high playing card and a pumpkin or just Ivanka or Donald Jr.?

ParticipantClueless in Seattle. I wonder what the mainstream Dem voters are thinking in Washington state.

ParticipantI am saddened by the CBS censorship that prompted my decision to leave the Bootleg and triggered its demise as a free site. Many of us supported it for two decades. Calling out the Black Lives Matter movement for its destruction of businesses, personal property and injuring people was too much for the PC police of CBS. Possibly RJ was caught between a rock and a hard place. (no pun intended) Hopefully, we will attract enough good folk on this site of all political persuasions to have meaningful discourse.

ParticipantThis may be a comparative stretch, but the same political message delivered by voters that ousted a competent judge like Persky have no place on the Supreme court. It appears to me and millions of others that the 4 left wing judges are more politically oriented and issue oriented than interpreters of the Constitution. Way too activist. IMO, that is not what the Supreme Court is all about. Justice Roberts was way too political in his opinion on Obamacare because he did not want to overturn Congress; a huge mistake in my opinion and a sell out to his mandate.

ParticipantMaxine Waters and her so called movement have less credibility than Alex Jones. The left wingers in this country have become emboldened and using Trump as their fulcrum, are trying to turn the USA socialist. Should they succeed, our nation is history. What will probably occur although there is no way for certainty or to account for future events, is that the American people will hand the Dems an incredible drubbing for a mid term election in November given their incredible lurch to the left which honestly I find astounding and unexpected. It seems the mainstream Dems, such as they are, are being held hostage and unsure and unable to find a centrist message to help their electability. Woe be to Dem Senators up for re-election in red states unless they completely disassociate themselves from the national Dem party.
This entire series of events has been orchestrated by Soros funded groups from the Trump investigation to the fictitious dossier to the Antifa/Waters/ Gillibrand tirades. People like Rosenstein who envision themselves the new politburo autocrats of the new left are just waiting to take over, unaccountable to anyone, least of all Congress.
If Trump really had balls, he would by executive order release all documents Congress has requested in unredacted form thereby bypassing Rosenstein without having to fire him. My fear is that Rosenstein would destroy the documents prior to their release under some pretext to be determined.

ParticipantThere is no pure answer without fundamentally changing the game as new equipment, better training and other variables have already done.
If I were a consultant that was hired to mitigate the effect of longer club distance, I would first of all narrow the fairways. The longer the drive, the greater the possibility to be off center. 2nd, I would place strategic bunkers at certain locations on each par 4 and par5 that would make it more challenging to drive for distance. 3rd, I would eliminate short par 4 and par 5 holes.
I would not want to reverse engineer golf balls or equipment backwards because it would make it more difficult for the average duffer to enjoy the game at a time when golf is not growing in popularity.

ParticipantFairways grass cuts and narrowness, rough grass cut and thickness, green speeds, pin positions have always been fodder for player discontent. Shinnecock is extremely tough in the wind and weather and the combination of a tough set up and theat particular course can be debilitating even for the best players. Personally, as long as the rough is short enough that one can actually make ball contact and the greens are slow enough that a short put will not roll 20 feet downhill because of the speed being too fast, players should just shut up and compete. I played in a member guest one time at Green Valley CC in Fairfield where a particular pin placement was so unfair, every person in my foursome who missed a putt to the pin had the ball roll downhill off the green. It was corrected the next day. To that extent I commiserate. Apparently that was the case on a few holes at shinnecock yesterday and is/was unreasonable.
How many times does a guy who shoots 77 in the 3rd round of the US Open have a share of the lead? Pretty much unheard of.

ParticipantNot much new or surprising in the report but I agree wholeheartedly with PL that Wray`s confounding statement of “no bias” does not seem to square very well with the facts.
The only other extremely odd thing is that Strozck still has a position with the FBI.
If nothing else, there should be some kind of investigation into the higher ups in the DOJ and Obama administration who orchestrated the entire thing and assisted in the implementation because they certainly were not agnostic.
Rocky17
ParticipantThanks, PL, for the forum. I hope Doc and I achieve as much fame for success of this CEB as for driving the lefties off the other one .
With regard to this post, Sessions is absolutely an enigma wrapped in a conundrum or whatever. He is inscrutable. Rosenstein obstructs, intimidates, slow walks and prevents legitimate Constitutional oversight by Congress on a daily basis and Sessions does zilch. Impeachment takes too long. Trump should demand a 24 hour turning over of all documents requested legally and if non compliant, fire Rosenstein and put someone else in there.
