Appeals court throws out Trump’s $454 million civil fraud judgment – ABC News
Interesting split decision. One of the judges said the case should never have been brought (standalone opinion).
Four judges agreed that the lower court correctly found Trump liable for fraudbut that the fine was excessive.
Two judges thought the matter should be retried to address errors by Judge Engoron.
322 page overall decision.
CNN’s legal analyst calls it a huge win for trump.
Most interesting part is that it took 11 months to adjudicate, when most midlevel appeals (this was the Appellate division of the State trial court) take weeks to a few months. Left Trump hanging. Was it politically motivated?

Of course it was politically motivated. Wait until the “felonies” are overthrown on appeal as well. That circus deserves to be undone, but it will undercut one of the core political narratives (“convicted felon”) of the past 2 years.
