The black unemployment rate rose in February, Biden’s first full month in office.  It had been declining steadily during Trump’s tenure.  it zoomed during the pandemic, then, while the unemployment rates of all other groups have continued to fall, the black unemployment rose to 9.9% last month.

Interesting juxtaposition.  Brookings holds that black voters gave Biden the presidency, due to their overwhelming commitment to the Democratic party (87% of black voters voted for Biden, according to the NYT).  Breakdown is in this article:

How would a 15 dollar National min wage impact this?

I would imagine that by more than doubling the minimum national wage (currently $7.25 per hour at the Federal level, though states tend to have their own levels.  21 states are either at the Federal minimum, or don’t mandate a minimum.  Only DC has a $15 minimum.  Another 21 states are between $10 and $13.50.  CA is $13 and only Washington is higher at $13.50 minimum.  The remainder are between $8 and $9.65.

The Economic 101 outcome is that both inflation and unemployment will rise.  The Atlantic, naturally, disagrees:

Wait till they start feeling the impact of the tax increase that Biden targeted directly at them. It’s as if the economic health of low income households is seen as an existential threat to democrats?

Spot price on crude has moved from $48 to $65 during the Biden presidency. And the sunsetter delivered this tax before a stimulus check. One can see where the priorities lie.

And Russia, Russia, Russia has another $170 million/day on making our lives more uncomfortable. Joe’s on top of his game.

And ps, Swalwell sues Trump over January 6th?  Who advised him that he wants to be testifying under oath in a deposition during discovery?  Can we repeat together, “Ineffective assistance of counsel”?

Yep, gas in November around $2.80 a gallon, if not lower at the cheap stations. Now over $3.60 at those same stations. Thanks Joe!

Here in Texas regular gas got as low as $1.85/gal at one point.  It is now about $2.40.
