On his way to the Presidency, Barack Obama promised no fewer than FOUR Democrats in 2008 that they would be Secretary of State if they endorsed him and he was elected President.

      The four included:

      1. Richard Holbrooke, U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Advised Kerry’s Presidential Campaign in 2004, joined HRC’s 2008 presidential campaign. After HRC pulled out, Holbrooke so aggressively pushed for Obama, friends warned him to turn it down. Bill C. had wanted Holbrooke to be Sec of State, Hillary convinced Bill to name Madeline Albright.
      2. Bill Richardson, former Energy Secretary when Bill C. was Pres., ultimately nominated for Sec of Commerce and withdrew).
      3. John Kerry (first Senator to endorse Obama, PO’d Hillary).
      4. Hillary Clinton, who ultimately got it.
