Rocky17ParticipantOf course, rioting has continued unabated since federal troops left. The Portland mayor cannot help but speak about Trump using the violence to promote his re-election bid. Just amazing. Nothing more important. Confirms the entire thing was political from the get go. Who are the voters that elect these socialist/progressive idiot morons? Tragic and not something that I would have expected to see in US cities during my lifetime.
If Portland had done what Detroit did early on, the rioting would never have reached this point.

LegendKeymasterSaw this. My thoughts exactly. People are destroying parts of his city and he’s worried they are being used as pawns by the president. That says it all.
It’s almost as if he only cares about the politics. The feds reached a deal to withdraw and these rioters are still going. It was all about Trumps troops. Now what is it?

Participant89 days to election, I hope the rioting continues. It is spilling out of downtown into burbs.
Does Portland garner MSM attention, or is it strictly Fox telling the story?
Notice Wheeler’s plea was not to step away from violence and vandalism to protect the community. He doesn’t want video that might help Trump. Says it all.

ParticipantI think the script playing out is about Biden.
He picks his VP and she and Biden go to Portland, Seattle and Chicago. Biden puts his foot down. Everything stops and Biden is a hero. He and his No 2 know how to handle a crisis. America takes a deep breath of relief and Biden goes on to win. Hollywood does the movie.

To be fair, Detroit has a ton more experience with rioting than does Portland, the Nation’s Whitest City. It wasn’t just 1943 or 1967, there have been race riots since the late 17th century in Detroit.
And if I may be frank, having lived in Detroit…the vast majority of residents are African American, and the vast, vast majority I ran across were pretty chill. And when I saw the riots on television, they looked to be majority white folks.
