If Newsom really wanted to impress both Americans and Californians-with-brains, he would get behind another nuclear power plant. Diablo Canyon is clean, produces 17,700 gigawatts compared to 856 gigawatts produced by the solar farm and it takes up 1/5th the space of the solar farm. Also, the solar farm took up six times the natural gas it was allotted to keep itself running.
