MickParticipantLove the headline associated with the CBS poll. “Americans losing patience with Biden Administration?” Ya think? Like it’s even a question?
66% of consumers having difficult time with higher prices, only 8% say no effect.
86% cite inflation, 82% cite gas prices, 69% say shortages. That last one grabbed my attention. I’ve noticed it too, supply chain issues mixed with inflation. The worst it’s been in my lifetime. Trying to shift the blame to Putin. of course and tapping into the oil reserves…that really helps, right?
Election in less than seven months. 34 Senate seats up for grabs in November, plus a special election to fill in the remaining term of Jim Inhofe (R-OK). Nine to watch are NV, AZ, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, NH and WI. Current breakdown is 50 Repubs, 48 Dems and 2 independents. House is 221 Dems, 209 Repubs., 5 vacancies.
On average, since WWII, the sitting president’s party has lost 29 House seats on average. Only once has the sitting president’s party gained seats, in 2002 when GWB was Pres and the Repubs picked up eight House seats. Biggest loss went to Barack Obama, losing 63 House seats in 2010. 31 House Democrats have announced they will not run for reelection, now that inflation is at a 40 year high (Repubs are calling it “Bidenflation”). In 2021, Gallup notes that the Dems led in party identification by 9 points in January, by December, the Republicans led by five points. That’s the largest swing Gallup has ever recorded. The decennial gerrymandering, on the other hand, has gone well for Dems. State courts have thrown out or curtailed redistricting that would have benefited Republicans and several states have redistricted to benefit Dems. New York’s plan could add up to three Dem House seats. Of the 14 Dem Senate seats, only three are at significant risk, and the incumbent is running in all three (NV, GA, AZ). Republicans are defending 24, three of which are competitive (NC, PA, WI).
Biden’s average job approval is 42%. Only Truman (33%) and Trump (41%) had lower job approval ratings at midterms.

cardcrimsonParticipantBiden and his team are so ridiculous. Heard him chattering today about “Putin’s Price Increases”, and that’s the talking point on much of the MSM.
Nobody is buying it, as the price increases were well before Putin’s Folly in Ukraine.
