92% of voters think civil unrest is a key topic. Really? Perhaps not surprising to anyone that is not a Democrat. They keep playing into Trump’s hands.

rjnwmillParticipantMick, did you happen to see the Q&A portion of today’s Biden presser? He couldn’t remember who to call on to get the softball questions. He deferred to staff to acknowledge those who got to engage during the session. You think that will work well in a debate?
I’ve also noted that everyone in his entourage is repeating the same line. Even Joe has occasionally remembered to participate in the “Joe Goebbels” approach. “Trump is a liar!” “We need a trailer on screen during the debates to identify all of Trump’s prevarications in real time.” “Liar, liar, liar!” Jury nullification is the principle campaign strategy and it is underway, full time, involving the full panoply of surrogates. We already know what’s going to be told in the spin room post debate. After Biden has lost his train of thought and spewed bs on a national broadcast, the shelf life of this approach will be obvious.
After his debate performance you think there will be a vibrant market for a faulty rehash of Trump’s comments after Charolette, about the responsibility for civil unrest in Trump’s America, about Biden’s own “prescience” regarding the covid-19 virus? To the contrary, how about his Chief of Staff’s observations about his performance during the H1N1 outbreak, about the comments by Gates re his foreign policy chops, about Trump’s continuation of expanded unemployment benefits, about the continuation of rent abatement? All Biden’ll have left is his compassionate whisper and open collusion with the media. I don’t think it will work well.
Here's a toast with one last pour, may it last forever and a minute more;

Agree, but we shall see. I don’t like Trump, but the alternative is a nightmare.

Cardcrimson, Trump can be quite charming socially…when he chooses to be. However, I imagine charming is more difficult to pull off when you’re trying to generate a sound bite in front of a crowd of 10,000 rabid partisans or a hostile press corp. Trump surely isn’t another Reagan, but then I am not at all certain Reagan would be effective working with Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff & Nadler. Not to mention AOC, Omar & Talib. Seems to me, Tip O’Neil was much closer to Reagan stylistically than the present democratic leadership.
