Mick1ParticipantFrankly, I don’t see how she could get elected dog catcher. She’s terrible, a far-Lefty pretending to be a moderate. She repudiated no fewer than fifteen separate positions. And she’s going to save California? Gov. Newsom, in two years, took California from a $98 billion surplus to a $73 billion deficit in two years. And he was
Some people are actually debating whether Harris should run for President again. You have GOT to be kidding me. How would she beat Shapiro or Whitmer or Moore or Gallego or Newsom or Buttigieg or Pritzker?
The LA Times has run two pieces in the past five days on Kamala Harris as governor. Five days ago, they ran a “will she or won’t she” piece, stating that she would have a “major advantage” and that she leads competing Democrats by a wide margin. 46% of likely voters say they will somehat likely or likely support her. There’s a number of declared Dem candidates, including LA Mayor Villaraigosa, 1st LGBTQ leader of the state Senate (Toni Atkins), lieutenant governor Eleni Kounalakis, state education superintendent Tony Thurmond and former state controller, Betty Yee…yes, the one who was involved in a sketchy, no-bid $600 mms. PPE contract. Others who haven’t declared include HH&S Director Becerra and state AG Rob Bonta, along with billionaire mall mogul Rick Caruso.
One political operative thinks that no matter what, Harris will run for President again.
Column: Kamala Harris should run for governor — but only if she wants to solve California’s problems
Homelessness. Housing shortage. Street crime. Overregulation. Perpetual water shortage. Outdated, unfair tax system. Overwhelming immigration…27% of statewide residents weren’t born here, or 11 million people.
And Harris is going to solve all that? HOW? She is completely inept as a politician. Decent DA, which is a completely different skill set.

Mick1ParticipantHarris would have a lead in the California governor’s race, poll finds – Los Angeles Times
72% of Dems would support Harris, 38% of independents would support Harris, and 8% of highly misguided Republicans would support Harris.
Minor dichotomy…she received 59% of California’s votes in the recent presidential run, but only 46% of all voters say they somewhat or very likely support her in a run for Governor in 2026.
This was the article that started it all, a Letter to the Edito:
Kamala Harris for governor of California? We need her back home – Los Angeles Times
The letter had two claims: (1) We need someone with her strength and experience and (2) it would really irritate President Trump.
Which tells you all you need to know about California Democrats.

LegendKeymasterI’ll put it this way: in a party and state that claps back at any criticism of a female candidate with accusations of sexism and misogyny, nobody is going to critique all the wonderful strengths Kamala has and all the fantastic jobs she can do until they actually have to vote.
She’s awful. I would be willing to bet there are a thousand more accomplished black and Indian females in Silicon Valley alone, much less in the state. She is the product of patronage, and while that sometimes produces capable people, it didn’t in her case. She has “failed up” like a few female executives I have known, and it’s always because they have such unique strengths and bravery, even in failure.

Mick1ParticipantMSNBC columnist Zeeshan Aleem says Harris is “particularly ill-suited” for a California Governor run in 2026. Says it is a populist era and the party would be making a mistake. Says she’s “exactly the wrong kind of person to resurface as the Democratic Party faces an identity crisis.”
‘Ill-suited’: Columnist warns Kamala Harris against making ‘mistake’ in 2026
Says the Dems need to authentically brandish economic populism and win back working class voters.
I have news for Zeeshan. She’s right about Harris, and let’s say not wrong about the stated need. But it isn’t going to be easy. The Dems have turned and run from the working class and towards the elites since Bill Clinton. It’s generational. They figured they cornered the market on rich people; e.g., Hollywood, Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and the pseudo-elite including lawyers, academics and the media.
They abandoned and took for granted working class people, the poor and minorities; all of whom have figured out that the Dems haven’t cared about them since Lyndon Johnson.
Sunny Hostin: “Maybe it’s time for Democrats to do a little bit of this post-mortem.” This from the woman who repeatedly called white women who didn’t go to college “uneducated.” And she finally tumbles to the threat that unchecked immigration represents.
Back to Harris, the ultimate DEI hire. I wonder how Biden felt about being cornered into naming her as his VP?

Mick1ParticipantCalifornia A. G. Rob Bonta has said he won’t run for CA Governor. and has endorsed Kamala Harris There’s no plan past Newsom.
I hate to tell you, but the former VP, Kamala Harris, has a deep contact book, name recognition, a mailing list, a deep bench of volunteers and access to cash. She would clear the field in 2026, according to both Newsweek and the LA Times.
Kamala Harris Comeback? California Governor Talk Grows – Newsweek
The only thing that prevents Harris from being our next governor — and I mean literally the only thing — is that nitwit is still considered the frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic Presidential nomination.
She’s been successful in California politics as SF DA, CA AG and senator. She did open a campaign account for governor in 2018, then closed it. 72% of CA Dems are very likely or somewhat likely to support Harris.
Don’t forget, Nixon lost the presidency in 1960…then eight years later, he won.
Sports Betting Dime lists the 2028 presidential odds for the following people. Note that Harris is 10th on the list:
Candidate (Party) Odds JD Vance (GOP) +300 Michelle Obama (DEM) +500 Gavin Newsom (DEM) +550 Ron DeSantis (GOP) +800 Tulsi Gabbard (GOP) +1000 Hillary Clinton (DEM) +1400 Tucker Carlson (GOP) +1400 Nikki Haley (GOP) +2500 Oprah Winfrey (DEM) +2500 Kamala Harris (DEM) +2500 Josh Shapiro (GOP) +3300 Robert F Kennedy Jr (IND) +3300 Vivek Ramaswamy (GOP) +3300 Donald Trump Jr (GOP) +4000 Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DEM) +5000 Doug Burgum (GOP) +5000 Elon Musk (GOP) +5000 Gretchen Whitmer (DEM) +5000 Ivanka Trump (GOP) +5000 Tim Walz (DEM) +5000 Dwayne Johnson (TBD) +6600 Elizabeth Warren (DEM) +6600 Glenn Youngkin (GOP) +6600 JB Pritzker (GOP) +6600 Liz Cheney (GOP) +6600 Mark Kelly (DEM) +6600 Audaces fortuna iuvat

I’ll take Things that will never happen for $5oo.
Californians will vote for her as president to keep her the hell out of Dodge. That deep contact book friend list will not forget what a miserable candidate she is.

Yeah, I’m not loving that. My grandfather (Stanford, ’42) started a very successful manufacturing business in California just after the Korean War that provided for three generations of our family and 75 other families. It was profitable every year until 2008. It’s out of business now, no thanks in part to California’s onerous, anti-manufacturing stance. It wasn’t any one thing, just a combination of factors that made it basically impossible to manufacture in California.
Actually, both of my grandfathers were in the same business. My other grandfather went to Cal for a few years and ended up a shop foreman. Terrific machinist, he invented or refined the machinery that my other grandfather used in his business. Cal-grandpa has his name on four patents.
Separately, my first firm did a lot of work for machine shops, many/most of which created technology prototypes. All of them are out of business now.
So much for manufacturing in California.

I think you’re right about that. There’s a plaintiff’s attorney named John Morgan, who is high up in the Dem billionaire hierarchy. Here’s quotes from the video below, hosted by Kayleigh McEnany:
“She can never run for President again”
“I begged them not to put her up.”
“She has no talent.”
“The votes that she got were people voting against Trump.”
and on and on and on…
John Morgan interview on Kamala Harris
Best part is his quote: “I’m a Bill Clinton Democrat. Each year, I’ve been pushed further and further out. The Squad. Defund the Police. Woke…it pushes people like me…I’m now a registered independent because I can’t abide that business.” and “Joe Biden is the end of the line for me…I would say to the Squad ‘Mission Accomplished…I’m out.”
