to start a Change.org petition to mandate the name change of both Berkeley and UC Berkeley. Not only was George Berkeley, the city’s namesake, an ordained bishop, he was also a slave owner.

I also find it amusing that his claim to fame in philosophy, is ‘immaterialism’. Fits Cal perfectly.
