The techies are tired of being accused of being the problem in SF. From their perspective:

Tech companies had brought San Francisco unfathomable wealth, money that went on to be mismanaged by politicians who had exacerbated every one of the city’s issues, from the housing shortage to drug use. “The truth is,” he wrote with characteristic bombast, “had tech workers actually assumed a significant measure of political influence, and led in local politics, San Francisco would today be one of the greatest cities in the world.””
