The Fed has never been a popular subject on the CEB but for those of us who keep a fair amount of retirement money in the market long term, he is not Mr. Popularity today.  His dour, sour and pessimistic view of the economy and employment caused a panic today.  Is there a legal mechanism by which I can send him a bill?  Seriously, I think what we need is optimism about now in our society given what we have been through.  Accentuate the positive. What he has engendered has been a bit of a disaster.  I hope it turns around for investors, pension funds and financial confidence.

Optimistic presentations are not in his job description. The Fed tends to be just the fact man kind of an institution. It’s up to the pundits to interpret what they are saying,

now politicians can spin things anyway they want.
