Why capitalized? Because that’s the headline of the article. True, she can’t cure or even help the party (unless she distances herself), so why is the article so unique?

Because it is in the LA Times. The same publication was begging for her to come home to CA and rescue us by being our governor.

Column: Kamala Harris won’t cure what ails the Democratic Party

Interesting bit of trivia…the last President to lose their first Presidential election and win the very next one was William Henry Harrison, also the last President born a British subject. That’s how long ago it was. Yes, Nixon lost in 1960, but didn’t win in 1964, it was down the road.

Best part: “For progressives, the objection is that Democrats aren’t fighting hard enough. For the more centrist wing of the party, the problem is the Democrats are fighting for the wrong things, having lurched too far left on culture war and identity politics. Uniting both factions is visceral desire to win.”

To be frank, they should be two separate parties. There’s virtually no overlap between the moderates and the Progressives, and I doubt that there are any actual centrists left in that party.

The greatest challenge for the Democrats is cultural and rests upon their very real gains since FDR. What do you do when you get everything you want? Demand more, of course.
