Kyle Rittenhouse facing civil suit for Huber death

Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot skateboarder/felon Josh Huber as Huber was attacking him with his skateboard in 2020 and was acquitted in a jury trial last summer. He is now facing a civil suit by Huber’s father.

Huber had a lengthy criminal history, including domestic abuse and threatening to murder his brother. He attempted what looked like a lethal action towards Rittenhouse.

When I was in high school, I had a friend named Brian Leonard. A skateboarder decided he didn’t like Brian, so he hit Brian in the head with his skateboard. Brian suffered permanent brain damage, and was never the same after that. The police in Santa Cruz gave the skateboarder a severe talking to.

Rittenhouse was not a threat to Huber, was running away, and did not instigate the confrontation.  Huber assaulted Rittenhouse with a deadly weapon…missed…and unfortunately paid with his life.

There’s a lesson here.  It’s called don’t bring a club to a gun fight.

How could a judge not see this as a frivolous law suit. The plaintiff should be required to post bond for attorneys fees before the matter moves forward.
