Legend – Scotch taste test

Was in a Scotch liquor store in Edinburgh recently looking to pick up a bottle of Laphroaig cheap.   The owner looked at me like I was crazy and asked why?  He brought out 2 glasses with scotch and asked me which was better. One Laphroaig and another.   Wasn’t close.   Clan Denney Single Malt.   $56.  I’m sipping right now.  My Christmas guests already drained most of the rest.

I like peaty Scotches. If it doesn’t taste like an ashtray, it’s not real Scotch… 😉

I like the old standards like Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Talisker, Ardbeg. BenRiach is my new flavorite. I was an Oban fan for a while. Haven’t had Port Charlotte or Compass Box.

I think I’m going to go get a shot of laphroaig from my stock after reading your post, mick. I’m on the EC so it’s way past time. 🙂
