Never any slaves on this ‘Plantation’ that became Rhode Island… but State’s official name being changed all the same… the Rhode Island Plantation was its official British Colonial Name since Roger Williams left Massachusetts to establish Rhode Island as a freethinking/Baptist sanctuary from Puritanism… his settlers/followers planting corn and wheat and farming it themselves without slaves… not the slavery-demanding cotton or indigo… the very first Jewish settlers in North America were welcomed by Williams

But the inmates have now taken over the asylum and so it goes…

This is right up there with exercise ropes hanging in trees and a rope handle on a garage door being characterized as a noose.

we are at the point where if the most offended person possible can see something as an offense, then we are collectively responsible for the offense and must change our behavior.

      The politics of pseudo-shame.

And it will continue until common sense prevails.  I sense pushback is starting to form, but the children have discovered how far they can push.  New boundaries are being established.  Protests will fade until the next incident and subsequent outrage.  More looting, vandalism and physical harm to law abiding citizens because elected officials are more concerned with appeasing law breakers than maintaining social order.
