California has a myriad of problems, many tied to failure Gov. Newsom. And Newsom wants to be President as much as my labrador retriever wants a steak.
It’s not in the cards for Newsom this year. Either Harris will fail in the Presidential vote in November, or she’ll win and be a spectacularly terrible, one-term President (nothing in her background indicates that she’s a great leader, really the opposite. She was a remarkably effective DA with a conservative approach and an okay attorney general. She was a short-term Senator, which is a collaborative position. Most strong Presidents are former Governors who understand the Executive role. The personality elements to be an effective President are the opposite of her prior roles).
In the wake of the USSC’s decision on 6/28 that Oregon’s ban on sleeping outdoors was lawful, Newsom sees his opening, with the complicity of Mayor London Breed who intends to act immediately:
Newsom to Remove Homeless Encampments across California after Supreme Court Decision
If he wants to be President in 2028, Newsom can’t just claim that California is home to the most Fortune 500 companies. He needs to clean up our problems, foremost of which is homelessness. If Trump gets elected, that will come close to solving the illegal immigration issue in CA.
