cardcrimsonParticipantHeard on the news this morning that Rodeo Drive and other prominent areas are going to close down and be barricaded the day of, the evening of, and the day after the election.
We truly have become a banana republic. . . .

I prefer absurdistan.
I wish I could come up with a better term that more accurately describes a body politic that has such widespread dementia, anxiety among other mental disorders simultaneously.

FratBoySpikeParticipantPerhaps “bipolar” is more fitting.

cardcrimsonParticipantThird item on the news this morning was that business owners in many cities across the state are boarding up their storefronts for election night.
I keep seeing Vote Love not Hate and Love Trumps Hate signs. Tell me again who is doing the hating?

rjnwmillParticipantWith the prospect of four more years of Orange, can local democrats reasonably expect to let the looting and lawlessness continue unabated?
Sorry Dawg, but every time I think it’s political suicide to permit this crap to continue…I think of the “choice” you guys have given yourselves for mayor of Portland? Voting for one of those two clowns and ANTIFA too?

Rocky17ParticipantAll those Trump voters are going to destroy the suburbs! One would think Biden`s voters would be intelligent enough to ask themselves who and why violence may occur if Trump wins and what the world might be like if those people are in charge. I know I am asking way too much of those sophisticated suburban housewives, egghead professors, union leaders and minority voters who have been following guys like Clyburn for decades with less than nothing to show for it.

Hey, watch your mouth. I live on the north side of the river. My trips to Portland are limited to my wine storage locker.
Antifackers crossed the river this weekend. They broke a few windows, started a couple of dumpster fires, but in general, found LE to be a lot less tolerant of fookery than their Portland counterparts. At one point the group was attempting to close down I-5. Cops were like, if you start down the ramp, you will be arrested. ANother interesting development, police shut down a public part where protestors were meeting. Anyone there after 10PM was arrested.
Portland – a city with so much potential cursed by leaders with so little vision.

As someone who has never set foot in Portland I humbly disagree. As a matter of fact I live closer to Dublin than Portland. But as a casual observer, I suspect there are significant mental health problems in the city. The social norms seem to have a low floor. The leaders conform to the norm. Fix that and you hit your potential.

I was referring to location as opposed to demographics. If you like the outdoors, this place wins 9 out of 10. Bordered by 2 major rivers, an hour to the coast, 90 minutes to high desert. Hiking, white rafting, skiing, fishing, hunting – the list never ends.
To your point – how do you explain to someone they are schizophrenic?
