State rights must be more powerful than I thought vs. federal law.  If it were not a subject I feel strongly against, I would probably be celebrating the decentralized effect of the federal government vs. states rights.

I think it’s fair to say that the feds should not be able to mandate enforcement support by local agencies.

I think it’s also fair for the feds to withhold funds for noncompliance. That’s exactly how they ensured adoption of a national speed limit iirc.

“Supporters of the sanctuary laws say they make communities safer by encouraging undocumented victims of crime to cooperate with police.”

If there are no police, how will communities be safer? Oh- Group hug!! Maintain social distancing though…

Rocky, the interplay between the constitution and federal coercion is always interesting.  Supreme Court had a busy day yesterday.  And I do not agree with sanctuary cities…or equivocating on the legacy of Abraham Lincoln… or autonomous zones.
