Goodbye to Boston U’s mascot:
“As part of our ongoing conversations about racism and the way it manifests itself in society and on campus, a number of you have pointed out that our mascot’s nickname, ‘Rhett,’ pays tribute to a fictional character associated with the Confederacy, slavery, and sexual assault, and that has prompted important conversations,” Brown wrote.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more ridiculous.

A perfect example above that could easily be interpreted as disrespectful of all women anywhere in the world, totally misogynistic and coarse in its reference to female genitalia including those of black and Jewish women. One could interpret this post as anti semitic, anti black, anti white, anti women and anti humanity and the poster himself as a gross, adolescent man child of perversion. One could do that but I do not. I give him the benefit of the doubt that it just was an immature attempt at humor that would appeal to some in West Marin. And what of his many dozens of posts regarding Remotey and other on the TDome board which could be interpreted by PC cultists as highly homophobic? He gives himself a pass but accuses others of horrific things in similar circumstances. I do not make that accusation either because I know better or at least think I do.
Now if only Phogge/Topcamera would afford the same latitude to all others. Humor is in the eye of the beholder but some who judge show prejudice beyond the pale. and it is personally hurtful to be accused of something outlandish and totally inappropriate subject only to one man`s prejudicial interpretation. Very disappointing and must be indicative of something within the psyche that I care never to explore.
If I was truly vindictive, I would take every post he has made of this nature and send them to his wife. I would be interested in her interpretation. I know what my wife would say and do if I were revealed as having said such.
He once asked me for an apology for his interpretation of one of my posts which he called anti semitic. Incredibly ridiculous. He is the one who should be apologizing big time for an accusation for which he should be held accountable on my terms.

OK Fine. I apologize if I have offended the poster. Sorry. I apologized in a previous private message for the “short” jokes about him. I will be careful to not post anything offending to him. I will be happy to not communicate with him. I don’t desire friendship.
This should not get in the way of getting this site really off and running. A personal squabble shouldn’t take up anymore of this Board’s time. Let’s agree to disagree and move on.
