It is shocking how weak the Democrats’ bench is.  There is not one strong leader in that group.  And there are several horrible human beings.

Actually the scenario may be worse.   Assume at some point Biden can no longer continue and VP Harris takes over.   Like Gerry Ford, she would nominate the VP.  In Ford’s case it was liberal Republican Nelson Rockefeller which made it easy for Congress  to vote to confirm.  Ford was a well known and a popular minority leader.

Who would the very unpopular Harris nominate?   She would have to bring in someone with a lot of gravitas and someone who was a rainmaker.  Hillary Clinton comes to mind.  How about Obama? She would be under enormous pressure from the left.  She would not get one Republican vote. As to Obama being qualified or not it doesn’t matter.  They are no rules anymore.

Harris is as likely as not to be more interested in her own perceived gravitas. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she selected the proverbial weak sister.

I don’t think it would be her call.

There is one person on Martha’s Vineyard who knows along with Pelosi.  I have no doubt the pick has already been made.

Hillary Clinton.  What a truly horrifying thought.  She has probably already defaulted to the idea that she would be the pick.  She has already begun her machinations to get Kay-mala removed from office subsequently.
