MickParticipantI was reading in the NYT that Biden’s lead doubled to 14 points after the debate. The daily 538 poll shows the difference narrowing to 8.2 points.

Wonder which one to believe…

rjnwmillParticipantI find it irritating that news/polling that is commissioned by media interests has been tainted by the sponsor’s bias. It seems clear to me now that election cycle “polling” is used as a tool to achieve voter suppression objectives.
Who can you believe…Biden…Trump…guys driven by self interest? Guys shopping for money? Perhaps politicians believe doner ignorance is bliss?
Here's a toast with one last pour, may it last forever and a minute more;

Genuine RealistParticipantI expect Biden to win, and rather hope for a blowout, as this is not a good year for an election controversy.
Does that mean the nation is turning Left? There are serious issues about health care and wealth that imply that. But the crazy progressive agenda? I don’t think so. I think the incredible obnoxiousness of Trump has produced an enemy-of-my-enemy alliance that conceals a lot of division.
In any case the sooner gone, the better, hopefully with minimum controversy.
I wouldn't give you two cents for all your fancy rules if, behind them, they didn't have a little bit of plain, ordinary, everyday kindness - yeah, and a little looking out for the other fella, too.

Rocky17ParticipantJust an incredible post but not a singular one these days. Government employees hoping for a government takeover, socialism, rampant crime, bureaucracy and more horrible climate policies that have burned California to a crisp. Not what we really need to hear during this horrible time of crisis. Maybe the anti capitalists will decide to cut government pensions in half that are grossly too high and share them with illegal immigrants who will be pouring across the border unscathed and in need of promised free health care for which citizens who could not pay were threatened with government fines and/or imprisonment under Obama. Beats hell out of wealth taxes. All in the name of Trump hatred. WE ALL THINK TRUMP IS OBNOXIOUS BUT HE IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF COMMON SENSE. People as old as we are should have more sense, at least enough sense to hold off the under educated products of our left wing teachers who do not know any better and think socialism and reparations are liberating. Mind boggling. If what Biden, Sanders, Harris and the other whack jobs promise is what California bureaucrats and retirees want, elect Harris governor and secede from the US. I for one will be ever grateful And take the new Pac 12 social engineers with them along with any and all athletic teams for which my financial support is forever gone.
And Rassmussen has always been the most accurate poll or in the top 2 for over a decade.
Maybe it is time for the South to secede from the union again all in the name of common sense. At least those who break laws, destroy property and attempt murder will be held to account. I guarantee it would be a better place for minorities to live in than Soros run places like Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia and Portland.
Where was the outrage when Biden and Wallace interrupted NINE TIMES before Trump jumped into the game and characteristically over played his hand to his embarrassment? Double standards in the media. Double standards everywhere.
Where is the outrage over Cunningham’s behavior in N. Carolina? If Tillis had done what he did, it would be 24 hour coverage on CNN and MSNBC and the networks. Not a frickin` peep except on Fox and the new liberal Fox has hardly touched it except on the opinion shows and there only briefly. Amazing. If GR and others get what they want, the genie will be let out of the bottle and will never be put back in. And these are the most intelligent among us. I give up. By the time my grandchildren are my age, we may have 237 Supreme Court Justices. Think about it. Some system of checks and balances and disregard for the wonder and beauty of the Constitution. Go Democrats.

Participant[quote quote=2909]I expect Biden to win, and rather hope for a blowout, as this is not a good year for an election controversy.
I too give the edge to Biden. Could be a blowout but I’ll vote for Trump. You can be an obnoxious AHole and be highly effective at the same time. Happens a lot. Trump has made some mistakes. Mostly venal. Trump had a chance to seal the deal Monday but blew it.
I assume that soon after the projected Biden win there will be a heal the wounds come together made for TV extravaganza for the new administration where we all breathe a sigh of relief that the riots and looting are over and Covid was really not that bad after all. Like magic, masks can come off and businesses can restart. You’ll see Hollywood glitterati, Silicon Valley titans, Bernie and AOC of course, BLM representatives, Antifa friends, professors, Al Sharpton, Supreme Court Justices in attendance. Maybe the smiling Chinese ambassador to the US. But most of all the Obamas and Biden in a show of unity and the hand picked successor in waiting. Harris. Trump will be erased but never forgiven.
At that moment I will look at Obama and Biden and think to myself, “you sons of bitches got away with a coup attempt. Fractured the country with a Russia Hoax, Mueller report ending in a bogus impeachment. Everyone that voted for Biden becomes complicit.”
Good plot for a fiction novel ya think?

Rocky17ParticipantThe story, Neo, will someday be written. But not in the US if Biden wins. Ever. Game, set , match. We will be finished as a nation or at least as we once were. I am not a religious man but Jesus was once purported to have said “forgive them, for they know not what they do”. In the name of my grandchildren and all they will have lost, I could never forgive. Then again, I am not the son of God.

ParticipantQuestion on my fictional.
Does the last scene take place where GR and I on a split screen with GR hailing the new administration and me swearing at the treasonous duo? Or does it end with Trump figuring he has nothing to lose and authorizes release of all of the secret documents pertaining to the coup conspirators only to find out they have been destroyed a week before the election?
