Mick1ParticipantRep. Chip Roy (R) called on VP Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th amendment given Biden’s condition. Today, House Speaker Mike Johnson said the same, and stated that most Americans and Republicans think that VP Harris should take that step. If they publicly call for Biden to resign and he stays, they risk seeming disloyal and paying a price if he wins. But if they back him forcefully, and Biden has another debate-like moment and loses, they fear looking naive and complicit. Hence, the deafening silence of so many.
Do you agree? If it were up to you, would you remove Biden?

But if you remove Biden, then Harris…14th most popular Dem in New Hampshire primary with just 127 votes…is likely not popular enough to win.
VPs don’t really do well in presidential elections. Only six have ever won, 12 have run and lost, five failed to get their party’s endorsement.
Obama, Pelosi, Clyburn, Schumer, Jeffries, his inner circle and others. They need to weigh in.
Don’t forget, Biden has the NATO Summit that he’s hosting in Washington. This could get uncomfortably interesting…

cardcrimsonParticipantYes. Without a doubt. We can’t have a President that is only conscious from 10-4. Good grief. Pelosi and perhaps Schumer are coming out saying he should step down, I assume from the election. The problem is they both were on the record, multiple times, telling us how sharp Biden is. They are lying sacks.
The press briefing tonight should be entertaining, as should the NATO summit.
Your old friend is making the rounds, as well. I wouldn’t count her out yet, either.

Mick1ParticipantReal Clear Politics’ summary of national polls in battleground states has Trump with a 2.7% advantage, a significant improvement since the debates. In 2020 at this time, Biden had an 8.8% lead. In 2016 at this time, Hillary led by 4.5%.

ParticipantToday’s polls all show Biden with a lead. Even Harris has a lead, which is surprising to me. It is an NPR poll, but still.

I don’t think that’s accurate. The NPR poll is reflected as one of 15 that Real Clear Politics covers, the only one in which Biden has the lead. Two polls have the race in a tie, the other 12 have Trump in the lead.
Be interesting to see the effect of the assassination attempt.
