ParticipantApproximately one year prior to the recent election, Dem lawyer and operative Mark Elias and his group began to act on their vow never to allow what happened in 2016 repeat itself. Accordingly after being rebuffed by Republican legislatures in key battleground states, they initiated their first in what turned out to be a series of nearly 300 lawsuits to run an end play around the Constitution. By utilizing sympathetic state secretaries, governors, lower courts and supreme courts, they managed to make at least temporarily lawful the ability to accept ballots after deadlines, accept ballots with little or no signature verification, send out ballots to people still on voter rolls with no request, make ballot harvesting legal and manage to intimidate precinct workers and election officials to eliminate supervision by anyone but Dem operatives. They were aided by a compliant, easily manipulated election software from Dominion and another company. They were obviously aided by the Covid19 crisis.
It is important to understand that the basis of Trump`s civil lawsuits is the basic illegality of what has transpired. They are trying to undo in 6-7 weeks what took over a year to put into place. While the law is clearly on their side, they must start at the lower end of the state and federal court system where Dem judges will be prone to throw out suits because of political pressure from their cohorts. If Trump is to be successful, it will be a slow and patient slog that will hopefully end up in SCOTUS where they should find a very sympathetic audience.
It is a concept called equal standing under the law. It must be upheld or we will never have free and fair elections again if they get away with it in violation of the US Constitution.
