ParticipantSo Colbert gets the axe. IMO, he is one of the most hate filled late night hosts. Colbert would have been off the air 8 years ago if it weren’t for Trump. His audience consists of Never Trumpers. His ratings went up with Trump’s.
Hearing the left cry about this is hilarious. CBS cuts half a dozen prime time shows and no one bats an eye – except for fans and the stars.
Critics of the decision claim CBS bowed to Trump, ignoring Late Night’s $40M annual loss. My response – they cancelled Colbert to free up money to pay WNBA players “what they a worth”. 🙂

ParticipantF Colbert and all the demtard/libtard crybabies. I guess they liked endless wars, higher taxes, and higher energy costs. Just look at our ahole Governor, overseeing the world’s 4th to 7th largest economy, $50B in debt… and all these demtards think HE’S POTUS material.
“I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I

ParticipantColbert is interviewing a CNN host and refers to CNN by saying “I know you guys are objective over there” and the audience howls with laughter. She says “Is that supposed to be a laugh line?” Colbert responds “It wasn’t supposed to be, but I guess it is.”
Yeah, Stephen. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

ParticipantSince 2022, Colbert has hosted 176 left-leaning guests and only one Republican on soon-to-be cancelled “The Late Show,” according to a study by media watchdog NewsBusters — a staggering imbalance that has tracked with his 2025 guest list.
In just the first six months of this year, the show booked 43 left-leaning political guests — and zero conservatives — leading all late-night programs in partisan tilt.
The only “conservative” on Colbert’s show since 2022 was — you guessed it — Liz Cheney.
Colbert’s left-wing ‘Late Show’ became ‘therapy’ session for liberals: study
$40 million annual losses with rapidly shrinking audiences. Go figure.

ParticipantColbert has lost 30% of his audience in the last 6 years. Sure he is number #1 in late night TV, but late night TV overall is in the decline.
A question my liberal acquaintances can’t (more likely refuse to) answer – Your decision to make, how long would you let the show lose money before cancelling?
