I am not a computer wizard by any means.  I am somewhat amazed someone could accomplish the entire set up of a new board independently of a large organization on the spur of the moment with seemingly no glitches.  Amazing job, PL.

Probably a good topic for the CEB…so I’ll move it there.  In this economy, almost anything that can be done can be done by a motivated individual.  That includes everything from “knowledge work” to services to hard core manufactured goods.  Almost everything is available in a fractionalized way that doesn’t require a lot of capital or a large organization (which, by the way, would have probably taken 3 months to get the CEB up and running, while all the players left the field). You just have to look.

Now, that said, when it comes to websites, it helps to know someone who can handle the basics (I don’t know how to set up hosting and the like, so had my website guy do this one).  Then a little bit of googling gets the tools in place (like that cute little emoji button). In other words, I had to learn a few things over the past couple of days.

The hard part in this economy isn’t the tools.  It’s the content. So I made a bet that there were other “booties” who would appreciate the ongoing coffee chat of the CEB without it being in the thunderdome (which, by the way, I don’t see surviving if they killed the friggen CEB).

I don’t know a single person on this board personally, but find that intelligent, thoughtful, and well articulated points of view on current events are hard to come by, and I have enjoyed the CEB enough to try to continue it.  It beats the hell out of reading racist and/or politico bot-driven commentary on foxnews.com.
