cardcrimsonParticipantat least that’s what the folks on TOS are clamoring for. They don’t like Scott Atlas and claim he’s embarrassing the University.
Looking at the list of Fellows, seems to be a pretty talented, and diverse, group: https://www.hoover.org/fellows
Guess there’s no room for diversity of opinion any more. . . .

ParticipantMy growing revulsion is unable to keep up with the countless examples of intellectual dishonesty, self-serving lies, seemingly endless and unmitigated hypocrisy from progressives and Democratic party operatives. What do everyday people gain by supporting this destruction of our country’s fundamental values? Why on earth does a large segment of the hoi polloi think that the principles of BLM and Antifa advance their own personal interest?
I have a daughter-in-law and son-in-law who are staunch supporters of Biden/Harris; partly because they hate Trump and partly because they support the Green New Deal, Reparations, nationalized healthcare (they are both M.D.’s), student loan forgiveness and other elements of the radical agenda. They state that they are more than willing to pay the higher taxes that will inevitably result, but they do not acknowledge the collateral effects of these policies: shifting incentive effects, widening of the income and wealth gaps, degradation of the education system, domestic unrest, increasing poverty, increasing crime, etc.
My own daughter, though politically uninterested, takes the simplistic approach to assessing these issues. To give a classic example, she buys the static analysis of a tax rate being raised. She assumes no reaction by taxpayers and accepts the word of MSNBC pundits when they tell her how much the rich will pay. When I broach such a discussion, she just does the equivalent of putting her fingers in her ears and yelling, “LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA”.
I believe we have already lost our country – even if Trump wins. That will only delay the creeping erosion of our national ethos. It has me really depressed. “A republic, if you can keep it.” It looks increasingly as though we can’t.

Rocky17ParticipantWhen the teachers and their unions and universities like Stanford stopped teaching western civilization and American history, we became doomed.

Had a quick conversation with my roommate from B-school this afternoon. He’s very left of center and agrees completely with you. We have already lost our country, regardless of who wins. . . .

ParticipantRemember when Obama said he was fundamentally going to change America.
He succeeded.
