Feds have already given $7 billion to the state of California, a state that held fire aid fundraisers in which not one cent went to homeowners.
Newsom claims Trump turned down a request to meet to discuss fire aid and says that the Feds have abandoned California in its time of critical need. Republicans disagree, as you might imagine. Repub candidate for CA gov, Rick Scott, asked for a detailed, public accounting for how the $7 billion has been used. Newsom and Bass (of course) didn’t dignify that with a response.
Gov. Newsom turned a $98 billion surplus into a $55 billion deficit. Why should the Feds give CA any more money than that to which they are legally entitled when they have not only proven that they don’t know how to spend and budget wisely, but they are actively conspiring to thwart government operations?
