…he’s taking his act on the road to show other Democratic state legislatures how to get more congressional representatives than they deserve (stats as of August 2025, provided by independentvoterproject.org):
California registered Democrats as a percentage of overall registered voters: 44.8%
Current percentage of CA-Democrats in House of Representatives (45/54) 83.3%.
In other words, Democrats already have nearly twice their registered representation in Congress. But that’s not enough for Gerrymanderer-in-chief, Gavin Newsom. By redrawing the maps, Republicans will lose five seats, giving Democrats (50/54) 92.6% of the congressional representation in a state that has 25.41% registered Republicans.
Pretty impressive. It’s rare to see a politician that slimy, that oleaginous, whose rank hypocrisy is stratospheric compared to the average hypocritical politician.

I really think we need to pass whatever legislation is needed to re-draw districts only after the 10 year census. I’d like guidance on some kind of non-partisan team to do this and/or some “geometric” limitations. probably a long-shot, and may require a constitutional amendment. I suspect a plurality of AMericans are or will soon be really sick of this.
