Mick1ParticipantWe’ve all had the experience in which something unfolds before our eyes that is so dumbfounding, so counterintuitive, so completely different from our expectations and our experiences, that we are powerless to act.
When former bartender and half-wit Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes first burst upon the scene, running — and winning — a guerilla campaign against an entrenched Democrat, gathering 1.4 million Twitter followers and making an absolute fool of herself when she joined Congress:
- Proving in an interview that she literally didn’t know the three groups that made up American Federal government
 - Displaying incredible tone-deafness by occupying Nancy Pelosi’s Congressional office.
 - Insulting not just Republican but long-time Democrats.
 - Forfeiting 25,000 jobs in her district by ensuring that Amazon didn’t build an HQ there.
 - Her tone-deaf “Tax the Rich” dress at the Met Gala (why would she even attend?)
 - Guest-judging RuPaul’s drag event (following Pelosi and KHarris)
 - Defending “defund the police” policies after multiple Democrats got shredded in the mid-term elections because of their DTP policies.
 - Adopting a fake accent at the DNC (like Kamala Harris did).

She continues it by supporting the assassin who murdered Brian Thompson, the slain UHC CEO, teaching migrants how to evade ICE and deportation, stating that illegal immigration is literally not illegal, defending Rep. Jamal Bowman who purposely set a fire alarm on Capitol Hill when Dems were stalling a vote, calling the richest man in the world “an idiot,” claiming that climate change is racist and unjust. Incidentally, the two cringe-iest moments I’ve ever seen are AOC playing Madden NFL with Tim Walz and her Twittering of her dancing.
That doesn’t even include multiple ethics violations. It’s easy for the right and moderates to dismiss AOC as one of the most brain-dead politicians in a brain-dead group. And yet, she has political instincts. She panders really, really well. She has affiliated herself with Bernie Sanders.
AOC and Bernie draw crowds of thousands: Is the Democratic Party having its Tea Party moment?
Moderates in the Dem party already have a difficult time, with their party elders faded (Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Feinstein) and their replacements not yet visible enough to remain moderate. The radical Progressive Left is leading the charge in the face of the Democratic Party’s record low rating of 29%.
Former Clinton Pollster Warns AOC Challenging Schumer Could Be Final Blow For Democrats
AOC has already condemned Schumer as the Dem minority leader. Will she challenge him? CA Democrat Ro Khanna has called for AOC to challenge Schumer in the 2028 NY Senate primary, and three House Dems have privately urged her to run against Schumer. Carville has predicted an “uprising.”
This is after the Progressive Left has held shadow power for 14 of the 17 years since 2008. If they get actual power, it will be the final nail in the coffin of this once-great country.

Mick1ParticipantBTW, AOC hated the deal to keep the government open and Schumer’s part in it. But, as (relative) moderate Senator Fetterman says “We chose to keep the government open. Deal with it.”
Fetterman takes swipe at AOC: ‘We kept our government open. Deal with it’

Participantshe definitely has amazing instincts, and so yes, I am afraid of her. I long for both parties presenting reasonable albeit distinct agendas. Right now I am watching for which one will do this, an don’t see 2 parties with reasonable agendas on the horizon for years. obviously opinion with many strongly disagreeing with me

Mick1ParticipantI basically feel the same. Why can’t we have normal politicians? Normal, middle of the road politics?
Take this program started by Biden, literally a way to make illegal immigration easier. Biden was, putatively, a moderate, and he started this program. AOC would adopt it, expand it, and give it broader, legal, permanent status.
Trump to Strip Legal Status From 532,000 Migrants Living in US
I’m reminded of Senate Majority Leader, Mike Johnson, who met with Biden and asked why he paused new permits for American LNG to export to European allies…a critical issue for his constituents in his Bayou state which handled 61% of American LNG exports. Biden replied that he never signed a pause. He literally didn’t know he’d done it. He was senile and incompetent and was at the mercy of unelected people that he didn’t select who carried out their destructive agenda. Trump is trying to put adults back in charge, and — for the first time — adults with a businessman’s eye, meaning an eye to efficiency. If businesses aren’t efficient, they go bankrupt. When governments aren’t efficient, they throw money at the problem. Hence…DOGE.

Mick1ParticipantFurther evidence, a CNN poll that puts AOC in the lead:
- AOC, 10%
 - Kamala, 9%
 - Bernie, 8%

Of note, 30% of respondents refused to name a candidate in recognition of their long-simmering dislike of the party.

Mick1ParticipantHere’s a fun video. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez states that Capitalism is unsustainable and irredeemable, among other things. Her lack of knowledge of basic economics and capitalism is breathtaking.
But don’t listen to me, take it from Hoover Institution Fellow Thomas Sowell. Hi indicates that she’s particularly ill-informed, and he deconstructs her absolute lack of knowledge here:
BTW, a trivia question for you. AOC graduated from Boston University, a good school, currently ranked #41 by USNWR. She graduated cum laude, with degrees in International Relations…and Economics.

Mick1ParticipantAOC is in the lead over Chuck Schumer. 55% of NY stone idiot voters back AOC, 36% back Schumer. This for the 2028 primary.
