Participantamong our former friends, allies, and trading partners.
Britain just issued a travel warning.
A French scientist was detained at the airport and denied entry because his phone had something critical of Trump.
Canadians and many others are refusing to purchase US goods.
Are we great yet?

KeymasterThe framing that the “scientist” was “critical of trump” is new to me. Is there any publication of what was written?
I am seeing the topic for the first time but it appears to be treated fairly delicately. If, instead of an academic researcher who was critical of Trump’s cuts to research, it comes out that this is a Hamas sympathizer who wrote that the president needs to die, would that change the need for detention? I would give law enforcement (CBP) the benefit of the doubt.
Seems there might be more to the story. I’m not willing to jump to conclusions, but can assure you that the administration has far bigger things to do than to harass a random academic. Reframing the issue might prevent all the hysterics from being assumed as true.
Let’s put a pin in that one and come back to it as more is known.

“I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I

ParticipantNice blather. Did you bother to read the warning? Here’s a link from Reuters. https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/britain-beefs-up-travel-warnings-over-us-border-enforcement-2025-03-20/
It’s about making sure travels documents are in order and that they follow proper procedures as actual enforcement of US laws has picked up.
How about Canadians? Have you talked with any? I have–three separate occasions in the last couple of weeks, all businesses and all wanting to work with my clients here in the US. They look at the situation as a minor blip, and two of them are supportive of what Trump is doing.
Not only the French guy, but several Germans have been detained and expelled recently. Improper paperwork. The French used words like “apparently” because of opinions on a phone, but wouldn’t elaborate due to privacy issues. . . .
Not great yet. But getting better and better every day!
