That has been one of the most oft-repeated phrases in the articles I have read since Trump began running for President in 2015. On a variety of general topics or on specific unfolding news items, nearly total blackout is applied by the mainstream media to important developments that don’t favor a liberal narrative. The absence of any application of even rudimentary standards of journalistic principles is completely obvious.
This thought was again triggered reading about the Sunday publication of the “Great Barrington Declaration”, a statement endorsed by more than a thousand biological scientists and more than 1,500 medical practitioners. But it is only one of many hundreds of instances of manipulation, hiding or distortion of information during the last four years. Across much of the media, the obfuscation has been staggering.
“The Resistance”, as it has been hilariously dubbed, was inspired by an editorial in the NY Times from August of 2016. Jim Rutenberg wrote the editorial which is linked here.
From that moment, more and more journalists and media outlets have ignored the truth in order to manipulate the presentation of information to the voting public. I would wonder, for instance, how many readers of the NY Times or Washington Post are aware of the FACT that we now know that Hillary Clinton created the Russia hoax to distract from her email debacle and that Brennan presented the fact to Obama and Biden. It was years before a significant portion of NY Times readers became aware that the Clinton campaign paid for the Steele Dossier.
We are headed for jack-booted thug territory. And that is if Trump loses.

It never mattered if it was Trump or John G (for generic) Smith. The progressive left wing of the Dems which used to be any and all of the left wing terrorist/revolutionary groups of the 1960`s want to take over this country and turn it into a socialistic/progressive/ whatever country where money, property and anything else of value is redistributed. Biden is a non cogent or cognitive stalking horse for these radicals whack jobs. The resistance or whatever one wants to call it has plotted, lied, whatever with the aiding and abetting of a far left wing media composed of the detritus of my generation. Young people armed with ignorance borne of a generation of left wing teachers have no idea what they give up if the Dems win. Trump may have personality issues but he never did a damn thing wrong except to continue and strengthen the mores of capitalism and free enterprise. Anyone who votes for Biden knows not what they do and will not be around when their children and grandchildren pay the price for their ignorance and arrogance.

I rarely go over there and when I do I scan the topics quickly and then “mark all topics read”. Even the “no politics side” (right, like ESPN is no politics) is littered with unexpected slams of Trump. The folks who try to present themselves as “balanced” observers of the political scene all feel it necessary to forswear any possibility that they might vote for Trump or that they might have any misgivings about the intent of the radicals steering the ship for the Dems.
At one time I truly found The Cardboard to be an amazing place. Yvonne’s sympathy for the hardcore leftists meant the board changed significantly when political discussions arose and got heated. When she summarily suspended ferrari and then stupac pissed off garvin, the damage had been done. The weasels and the hotheads took over. Eventually, they ran off or shut up the conservative or libertarian voices almost entirely.

Just an aside: Outsider Fan would be horrified to know how much he is a duplicate of Trump’s tone and rhetorical style. Unfortunately for him, he lacks Trump’s effectiveness.
