I have a theory that a lot of what we’re seeing in society is boundary testing by millennials and leftists; and the rest of society is failing to set boundaries, resulting in chaos, cancellations, and more boundary testing.

I only took one Sociology class at the Farm, but it was a fun one: “Deviance and Social Control”. One of the two “A”s I received, so I remember it!  Haha.  There was a member of the local punk rock band, “Whipping Boy” in the class that often had some gnarly gashes in his skull, but I digress.  It is hard to tell when new boundaries are being established while anarchy is prevalent.  Sometimes it takes a while for society to respond.  There will be blowback at least through the presidential election.  Interesting times.

Shame is a powerful deterrent to boundary setting. As long as these malcontents hide behind shame, the push back will be more implicit.

I have a theory that technology has eliminated a broad swath of the population’s ability to read, reflect, and act deeply. There has always been the “controllable element” in the population, but it’s getting bigger and bigger.  I think that’s a result of the rapid erosion of critical thinking skills.

I think we are heading into a new dark age driven by the loss of deep literacy (I posted on this a few days back).

Wasn’t Wlat Harris in the Whipping Boy band?
