Mick1ParticipantI don’t find it remotely surprising. Biden is a terrible president, and he’s ancient. Trump holds a 45-38 advantage. Even DeSantis holds a 42-37 advantage.

rjnwmillParticipantPolls traditionally don’t properly weight input from ballot harvesters and local signature verification workers?

Mick1ParticipantIn May, Trump had a seven point lead in the ABC poll. In a poll released this morning, it became a nine point lead, 51-42.
ABC poll says Trump beats Biden by 7 points
Lots of other good data in this poll:
- Biden is bad on immigration and getting worse (23% approval)
- 45% STRONGLY disapprove of Biden’s work overall
- 74% says he’s too old for a second term (50% say the same about Trump)
- 40% would blame Biden if there’s a government shutdown (vs. 33% blaming Republicans)
- Only 38% approved of Trump’s performance when he left office, that number is now up to 48%.
- 62% of Democrats AND Democrat-leaning independents think the party should pick someone other than Biden, only 1/3rd back Biden…and it’s fractured. 20% say “someone else” and no single candidate polls higher than 8%.
- Trump still has 54% support of Republicans, no one else has more than 15% (DeSantis, whose support was 25% in May).

Interesting that Trump outscored/outpolled both Biden and Obama at the same point in their presidencies.
Also interesting that a recent Consult poll indicates that the Republicans are more capable than Democrats of tackling the big issues, by a nine point margin. Said poll results are driven by the Democrats’ own voter base, a natural result of the Progressives taking over what was once a liberal party.

Peggy Noonan’s take seems accurate. Voters don’t like Democratic stands on immigration, COVID (and related supply chain, retail and education issues), the economy, inflation, gender issues, or crime. They don’t like Biden’s obvious cognitive decline, or his transformation from a moderate leftist to a Progressive captive or his family’s shenanigans. And how does he afford all those expensive houses?
The trends are not good, says Peggy. Most trenchant comment: recent inflation was sudden. In the past, inflation crept up. It exploded on the scene.
Biden’s job approval is 13 points under water.

Mick1ParticipantBiden’s approval rate among Democrats dropped 11% in just the last 30 days according to a new Gallup poll. His approval rating among Democrats fell to 75% and has fallen to a new low of 37% overall.
