ParticipantPlease address his point, which is that Kamala Harris hasn’t had to answer a single unscripted question or submitted to a single interview since Pres. Biden withdrew.
You’re being information siloed a la Ben Rhodes’s Iran deal.

ParticipantI’ll remember this the next time you post anything surreptitiously recorded by one of the observers political campaigns routinely use to get audio or video they can then Rupar into a hit piece.

I’ll answer it for him. This is Kamala’s version of Biden’s “basement strategy.” The less unscripted commentary that flows from her mouth, the better her odds of winning. Because she says some truly bizarre stuff when she has to speak off the cuff.
I’ll also add that she and Walz are rated as two of the most Progressive politicians in Congress. They are Leftier than Left in a moderate/right country, and they are trying to flim-flam the voting populace with the help of a desperate and willing media.
And…they just might win. If you look at the Dems, they have the Four Horsemen of the 21st Centry Apocalypse on their side: Wall Street, Hollywood, academia and Technology. They will Soros their way out of a Trump presidency if at all possible.

ParticipantFor one thing, Biden only announced he was not going to run 18 days ago. Harris was the presumptive nominee only 2+ weeks ago. I would imagine she’s been focusing day and night on making a whirlwind number of important decisions regarding who should run the campaign, strategy, events, who the VP should be, doing the events, not to mention spending time shoring up support of delegates, other Democrats, etc.
I’m not Harris’ apologist, but now that she probably has many of the major strategic issues sorted out, I would imagine she’ll hold a press conference or interview(s) soon.

LegendKeymasterShe did say that she would have her people put together a presser by the end of the month…

By the end of the month? It should have been the first thing she did. She wasn’t elected by the people, she was the product of a self-admitted coup (Nancy Pelosi and others have publicly stated that Biden wasn’t going to win, so they threatened him and he caved), so the very first thing she should have done was to sit down for some tough questions.
But she didn’t. Why? Because she can’t.
Here’s a question: I thought JD Vance was a bad VP pick (I would have gone with Haley). But Walz? Wow. He’s Gavin Newsom with white hair.

LegendKeymasterTrump scored an own goal with Vance.
Kamala may have forfeited the game with Walz.
My take is same as yours: Kamala runs the basement strategy and wins because the media wants her to.

I don’t do this often enough, but every so often it pays to listen to the other side. Here’s a couple of earnest young talking heads and Van Jones talking about Kamala’s VP selection and specifically why Shapiro wasn’t selected. Van, of course, focuses on the fact that there is a visceral anti-Semitic wing that has developed in the Democratic party, that they didn’t want to (paraphrased) offend the pro-Hamas terrorist part of the Dem party. That’s not too surprising.
What surprised me was that the earnest young talking heads claimed that anti-Semitism absolutely was not part of the issue, because, after all, Kamala’s husband was Jewish. What they claimed was that Shapiro wasn’t selected because he interviewed badly, that his personality would swamp Harris’s, that he really wanted to be President and not VP, and that he was oozing ambition from his pores, and that is what torpedoed him.
By the way, both of these very young talking heads are just insufferable.

Mick1ParticipantBTW, here’s another bizarre JD Vance story. He changed the flag of Minnesota, because it didn’t feel inclusive enough, and some people objected. Here’s the old flag. You got a farmer and a native American riding on a horse:

Here’s the new state flag of Minnesota, population 5.74 million:
Interesting design, right? You may know that Minnesota is home to a large Somali population, including squad member Ilhan Omar. Just for grins, here’s the Somali flag:

Notice any resemblance?
Governor Vance bent over backwards to appease a population that is 1.5% of his state. Interesting.

Participant“Governor Walz bent over backwards to appease a population that is 1.5% of his state. Interesting.” (fixed that for you)
Well, the fact checkers are all over this pointing out differences between Minnesota’s new flag and Somalia’s. Walz pointed out the old flag was problematic, possibly offending the native American residents. Native Americans are 1.0% of Minnesota’s population, so the narrative remains Walz was appeasing an extremely small minority.
Appeasement is sold as leadership. We are becoming a nation of pussies lead by wussies.

cardcrimsonParticipantWell, on a positive note. Governor Pretty Boy hasn’t changed the CA flag yet. Ironic that the iconic flag touts a Grizzly Bear that hasn’t been in the state for over a century.
This might be more appropriate:

ParticipantSeveral more own goals by Trump:
- His campaign inexplicably is flying on Epstein’s jet, apparently.
- His rally in Bozeman the other day featured music (without permission or licensing, of course) from The Titanic. Is his campaign a sinking ship? It definitely seems like it hit an iceberg recently. Not the imagery you would want to evoke.
- Trump praising Musk for firing anyone who wants to unionize. Not the best strategy if you’re trying to win Michigan, regardless of what you think of unions.
- Trump threatening to sue the government for $100M for raiding Mar-a-Largo during the illegal documents case. Why would he want to bring more attention to that? It was the one case even Republicans thought had merit. His personal judges threw out the case and it was out of the public eye. Leave to Trump to say “hey let’s talk about those classified documents I stole.” Of course, he will never actually sue. The discovery phase would just draw even more scrutiny. So he’ll come to his senses soon enough.
