cardcrimsonParticipantCNN even is blistering Joe on Afghanistan, Covid, and the border. Surprising they left out inflation, spending, China and Russia. Actually, a pretty fair read, minus the requisite Trump bashing.

LegendKeymasterThey can’t help themselves on Trump, but when CNN is turning against Biden, you know he’s in big trouble.
What Biden is proving…again…is that Senators are terrible executives. Hell, Trump was an awful presidential personality, but a better executive in his own way.
And, at some point, everybody will realize that we had the answer in front of us for years. Why would Obama ever say something like the quote about never underestimating Biden’s ability to F*** it up. Why would there be a quote from Robert Gates on Biden being wrong on every foreign policy decision in four decades?
It’s because people know he’s incompetent. They know it, they said it, and Trump was so distasteful that people actually voted Biden president.
And now we have Biden, the incompetent.
He is what we thought he was.

LegendKeymasterThis was a good take I stumbled upon. I suspect he’s a right winger, but his take on the cynical straw man of Biden’s speech today (“we had to end this war / I would not pass it to another president”) is very aligned with what I saw.
Few people argue for another generation of fighting in Afghanistan. Most people are outraged at the botched pullout and evacuation, and especially at the betrayal of friendlies. Far worse than Trump’s so-called double cross of the Kurds.
I'm well aware that it's Political Damage Control 101 to create a principled straw man imperative to amplify as a deflection from the core issue, but the cynicism of @JoeBiden's remarks today are nonetheless striking. Every rational human in this country, be they for or against..

I can’t think of any example of a President driving our moribund institutions of government more effectively in a crisis than Trump did in obtaining PPE, ventilators, hospital capacity, logistical capability and vaccines in 120 days. The man drove government to save lives.
Let’s not get lost on a cult of personality.

cardcrimsonParticipantPlease. The post was about Biden and the fact that even CNN is turning on him. Everything doesn’t have to be about Trump, but the Dems want that to be the narrative.
The point is, Biden is an incompetent buffoon, and even CNN is admitting it.

ParticipantBERLIN — Until Sunday, Europe thought Joe Biden was an expert on foreign policy.https://t.co/zo1hUdfydn

Hmm. The media drives perception? Internationally, the Europeans read our newspapers and watch our (non-Fox) cable news and allow opinions to be assigned to them. Real people in the decision making rooms were trying to warn us about Biden’s incompetence for years, but if the media spreads the Democrats’ talking points, it’s accepted uncritically because… reasons?

ParticipantDawg,
Joe and CT have a plan.
When the lights go out and there’s no water left, everyone will prefer to be in Afghanistan than in the western US. Desiccated but vaxe’d They can also put money in the infrastructure bill to buy water from Afghanistan and China in the interim.
