cardcrimsonParticipantOr at least so says Biden’s energy secretary:
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/energy-granholm-miami-condo-collapse-climate-change
She’s using the disaster to push for the infrastructure bill. . . .
Sec. Granholm also states that she’s from Michigan, and the lakes are rising there due to climate change and beaches are being washed away. Funny thing is that Lake Michigan is actually down, significantly, from it’s recent peak in the 80s. Never let the facts get in the way of a good narrative.
Love the title of the article, though the text, and more importantly the chart within the article, show the over the last 100 years, the lake has risen and fallen multiple times, yet has always remained within a six foot range. Right now the lake level is rising, but it’s rising from an historic low just a few years back. . . .

LegendKeymastergood point about the lake.
Cyclical phenomena are tricky that way. Can you imagine if the warming trend we experience every year from February to June were extrapolated? We would all be fried by October.

ParticipantRising ocean levels? meh.
20,000 to 25,000 years the first North Americans crossed the Bering Straits on dry land. Today that path is under 300′ of water. Antarctica was once a tropical paradise.
The next ice age is coming and will be here long before humans fix the climate change problem.

cardcrimsonParticipantJust waiting for this to hit. Will be more devastating than a major earthquake. And like a major quake, we’re due. Of course the flood will be blamed on climate change, though it’s happened pretty much every 100-200 years. . . .
A bummer that the town in live in currently got washed away. . . .

ParticipantThat’s the problem with modern journalism. Everything has to have a political angle to it, and blame must be assigned. You had Ken Klippenstein from “The Intercept” trying to blame DeSantis’ deregulation event in 2019 for the building collapse. It was a licensing reform event, and would not have affected the inspection of the building or prevented the HOA from ignoring problems relating to a poorly designed pool drainage system. You have Sec. Granholm trying to blame it on climate change. Why don’t people wait for the actual investigation and evidence before trying to assign blame? (Well, because journos want to play the blame game immediately, and often to further a political agenda, rather than to get a scoop).

MickParticipantI had a less-than-satisfying sexual experience last night. It was too hot. Climate change.
My dog dug up a favored rose bush. Obviously it was seeking water and nutrition. Climate change.
A potential client turned down our services in favor of another law firm. Climate change. Obviously.
