Rocky17ParticipantBOMBSHELL ALERT.
The FBI has apparently not been sitting on its ass with thumbs inserted since it obtained the information in 2019.
One link to post since it is just breaking on Fox and a few other places but not CNN, MSNBC or the networks. I wonder why.

How many people we have left on this CEB? I feel lonely.

rjnwmillParticipantIf the investigation into money laundering has been closed, I would hope Barr would so disclose immediately. If the inquiry remains active, let the chips fall where they may.
As Orange disclosed to anyone who’d listen, he’s a counterpuncher. He’ll hit back harder. The toxicity of our politics is now going critical. Team Orange v Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, Schiff et al. While fun to watch, it has to be put behind us. There will have to be a truce for the government to function as intended. I don’t see the Democrats waiving the white flag, nor will Orange.
The challenge of fixing this mess will be the issue in 2024. We need a bipartisan effort as we had in 1974. Throw out the bastards who have thankfully exposed themselves for exactly what they are over the last ten years. Leadership based on seniority is a failed model that was exposed a generation ago.

ParticipantThis is rather pedestrian. Yes, there’s an FBI investigation into international money laundering by Hunter and his associates. They used an already open case (low evidentiary standard) to obtain the laptop. Having a case number and having the repair store owner testify as to chain of custody before a grand jury is not that exciting.
Now this has legs.

LegendKeymasterMoney laundering?
You mean book publishing and speaking fees? what about board seats after retirement? That’s the real money laundering in politics. Republicans and Dems alike grift at that trough.
Biden made 15 million plus in a year shortly after leaving office. You think that is because he is such a great speaker and writer? The guy can’t string together two sentences and doesn’t even write his own tweets.
Making this about Hunter won’t help trump. This is about Biden’s careful complicity with Hunter’s deals and roles.

Legend, your last two sentences is what every conservative talking head is trying to tell Trump. My take- with everyone advising Donald forcing Joe to defend his own actions is a winning strategy, DJT will spend the next few days railing about Hunter.
This isn’t 2016. Trump was elected as a populist, a puncher, a novelty in the political arena. His base still loves the populist and puncher, but the novelty is gone. I don’t mistake Trump vs Biden rally size for a growing wave of support for Trump. Biden rallys are what they because he doesn’t inspire anyone. Biden will win, not because he has a broad base of support. He wins because he is not Donald Trump.

rjnwmillParticipantYou seem pretty sure of the outcome Dawg. Here are several factors it looks like I weigh differently than you.
-Several well thought of pollsters seem to agree that Orange will exceed expectations with voters of color. (538/Nate Silver & Trafalgar) this seems likely to impact the outcome in some key states: FL, TX, MI, NV, AZ & NC.
-It looks to me that the Orange base will turn out. I’m less certain for Biden. Particularly with the historical rejection rate on mail in ballots.
-I honestly don’t know the size of the “shy trump voter” segment. However I can share that both my daughter and niece qualify. Both mid thirties with young kids and are put off by the Orange bluster. Neither wishes to be associated with the atmospherics. Both have concluded Orange is right on the issues. They feel there are worse things than a crass SoB in the White House.
We’ll see.

Rocky17ParticipantI pray Bob is correct and Dave is wrong. Here in Florida, I am pretty confident Trump will win as there will be no mail in shenanigans. I am still of the opinion that as Pennsylvania goes, so goes the nation.
