French Election today. Bizarre oddities.

Everyone must show a photo identification ID.  They must be 18 and can only vote in the place where they are registered.  No mail in ballots.  Only paper ballots.  Voters must cast their votes in a booth with the curtains closed and on completion must put the ballot in an envelope and then into a transparent box.  No early voting. After ballot is cast they must sign a document next to their name to complete the process.  Ballots counted by hand and announced at the end of the day.

Clearly voter suppression. What luddites.
