AOC and the rest of the squad were particularly ineffective politicians in 2020.  AOC brought 21 major legislative actions.  None of them even made it out of committee, much less survived a committee vote or became law.  Democratic House insiders said many of Ocasio-Cortez’s colleagues found her approach alienating:

“Tweeting is easy, governing is hard. You need to have friends. You need to understand the committee process, you need to be willing to make sacrifices,” said one. “Her first day in Congress … she decided to protest outside of Nancy Pelosi’s office.”

Also liked the fact that fellow Democratic Socialist “Squad” members were ineffective. Rep. Ilhan Omar sponsored 33 bills that also went nowhere, earning her 214th place, while Rep. Rashida Tlaib saw three of her substantive bills advance into committee — with one ultimately becoming law. She ranked 92nd.

And speaking of ineffective Democratic lawmakers, Kamala Harris was given the border crisis to address…and eight days later, she hasn’t had a press conference.

The Height of Arrogance award goes to…Janet Yellen. She knows that American companies will offshore in response to a higher corporate tax rate, so she’s calling for a Global Minimum Corporate Tax rate, in other words, demanding that other countries raise their corporate tax rates to minimize American damage that the Dems will cause by raising taxes.

Georgia Republicans have banned Coke from their offices after Coke criticized their voting laws.

And prosecutors are distancing themselves from the findings of the only doctor who performed an autopsy on George Floyd (Hennepin County CME Dr. Andrew Baker) that found he died of cardiac arrest, not asphyxia.  The prosecutors are calling six doctors, including a forensic pathologist (Dr. Baker’s job) — but not Dr. Baker.

Meanwhile, Beijing is dredging to minimize islands owned by other countries, and flooding the South Pacific with their ships.  American SoPac commanders have consistently lost battle outcomes with the Chinese over the past few years.  And Russia has made a huge military buildup in the Arctic.

      Lots of things to discuss…

I really don’t think we have appreciated the international calm that was the trump admin. No new wars, troop drawdowns, isis from problem to footnote, Iran in its place, and nato paying for itself.

If not for the domestic disturbances and divisions fomented and embraced by the opposition, it was a pretty good time.  Those were bad but largely fomented at least passively by the opposition.

Good luck with that. A couple of starting question for each of the six esteemed medical pradtioners, “did you contract to perform your work before or after the County CME?”

      What was your charter?

Did Ellison’s office have concerns about the conclusions of the CME?

Are the CME’s conclusions consistent with the prosecutor’s theory behind the charging decisions in this case?

How much paid work have you done with the state in the past?

Have they used you at trial as an expert witness?

Are you paid as an expert?

And I agree with you, I don’t think history will look favorably on Biden or Obama.  And only one of them can run for cover behind his ethnicity.

      Here's a toast with one last pour, may it last forever and a minute more;

Don’t forget the fact that the American Embassy in Israel moved to Jerusalem after literally decades of Democrats paying lip service to the move but failing to actually move the embassy.

On Biden’s watch, things are falling apart internationally, but I think my favorite part was the Canadian Prime Minster orally servicing Joe Biden with his lapdog compliments of America’s “seeking to repair” the American-Canadian alliance, just as Biden decides to eliminate the XL Keystone pipeline and destroy 1,000 Canadian jobs and 11,000 American jobs.  Awesome.

True.  The other will need to claim senility, which, fortunately, is a legitimate claim. He sounds like he’s had at least one stroke.  Not sure why Obama picked him, candidly.

And just as an aside, while speaking of VPs, lefties used to joke that Dan Quayle was impeachment insurance for Bush.  And McCain’s selection of Governor Palin was a bit of a head scratcher.  But to me, the all-time bad choice is Kamala Harris.

Harris had just 129 votes in New Hampshire.  Even Donald Trump had 1,217 write in votes in the Democratic primaries in NH, 10x what Harris had as a running Democrat.  She was bitter, and shrill with the best maniacal laugh since Howard Dean embarrassed himself in the 2004 primaries.  And she’ll be our President once Biden can no longer dress himself and his handler’s can’t understand him.

Scott Adams (yes, the Dilbert guy) says that the longer Trump is out of office, the better he will look.  So far, so good.

My brother tried the “they’re (the international community) laughing at us” early in the Trump presidency.  I pointed out that Trudeau can jab and laugh BEHIND TRUMP’S BACK all he wants, but NO ONE respect him. Trudeau has turned out to be a more ineffectual, openly ridiculed leader than Trump.  No one respects Trudeau, especially the communities he tries to pander to (see his India trip).  At least with Trump, you knew what the other leaders were doing (they knew they could score easy media points by making fun of Trump, while fearing his effectiveness).  Quite frankly, the whole Anchorage / China thing proved to me that Obama was right, Biden is a foreign policy disaster.  When Mexico is yearning for Trump, you know you are terrible.  Wanting to get back into the Iran deal… um, why?  There’s literally no reason to accommodate an untrustworthy and disruptive regime that doesn’t help us in the least.  The Abraham accords showed us that the Middle East is realigning, and we can either be on the right side of it / facilitating it, or… do whatever Biden is doing (resuming payments to the Palestinians? Getting back into the Iran deal? Why not just directly fund terrorism in the Middle East?).

As for Kamala, she dropped out because she was running behind Andrew Yang in California.  She’s a terrible politician who benefited from California’s social promotion for Democrats program until Biden committed himself to a female, African-American vice president.  She’s a demonstrated liar, completely inauthentic, a prosecutor who jumps to conclusions without evaluating evidence, and someone who will say anything to win an election (and still puts her foot into her mouth on a routine basis).  Also of note, the media runs cover for her / promotes her, and she knows she will not be held accountable by them.  The media is already preparing the general public for the 25th Amendment proceedings.

Social promotion. Good description.  Kamala fits that to a tee.

I believe Pelosi flapping about the 25th Amendment in Jan was setting the table for Biden’s removal. She knew the 25th couldn’t be used on Trump, and Pence was not going to initiate action.    All the hand waving and declarations about the 25th had nothing to do with Trump, but everything to do with Biden.

Bd. That may be so, but the Dems threw the kitchen sink at Trump so who knows what was posturing for Biden’s removal.

We live in such a bizarre time. Whatever the parties say is right gets taken as right. Orwell was so spot on that I actually don’t think much of this is new.

biden is definitely testing his political capital. It’s unlikely he has the votes for the tax schemes he is hoping for, and if it’s tried before the midterms he definitely won’t have the votes after. That’s especially true if somebody actually tells the “working class” that all these taxes on the rich guys fall to them, too, in terms of more expensive cost of living.

You bring up a good point. The Dems are likely to get crushed in the midterms, given all the Progressive steps that Biden has taken to mollify the extreme left.  There’s going to be a lot of turnover at that time.  All 435 House Seats and 34 of the 100 Senate seats will be up for grabs.  And the 2020 elections were a good signpost.  There were five vacancies and one Libertarian in 2020.  After the election, all the vacancies and the Libertarian and 11 others became Republicans.

Biden knows that he needs to get as much done as possible between now and the first Tuesday in November, 2022…just 19 short months away.  The Republicans will play defense as much as they possibly can.
