  Nylaia Carter learned basic first aid as a sophomore, and when leaving practice she saw a gunshot victim. She convinced her father to stop the car and applied a tourniquet and pressure until medics could arrive. I understand why the dad wouldn’t want to stop, but thank goodness she wanted to do the right thing. After a week of bad news, this is a great story.
