I accuse the media of information laundering. This is the most recent example. An anonymous source makes crazy claims of Trump being anti-military (we all know this is coming from John Kelly). Immediately debunked. Then trotted out by DNC accounts, promoted by Google and Meta, and then repeated on the campaign.

The sister, Mark Meadows, Mark Meadow’s spokesman / the translator, and the family’s attorney have all debunked this latest hoax. Yet Mueller She Wrote and other influencers are wondering why this hoax isn’t gaining traction.

I think John Kelly is probably an otherwise honorable man who really couldn’t deal with failing.

I also think that people overestimate the honor of general officers. They are sometimes as much politicians as military leaders.

Do I believe a guy like Trump could say, in a private conversation, that some people who died in combat got suckered into it? Absolutely. It’s almost on brand. Do I think that means he hates the military?  Of course not.

Trump is as American as they come. I wish we would just admit it. I can guarantee you plenty of people in America have sat around the campfire saying “hell naw I am not the guy that’s gonna charge that machine gun nest!  I wouldn’t want to be the loser with the short straw on that one!  That suckers gonna get blown up!”

      See what I did?

More evidence that John Kelly is just lying at this point.

Let’s face it.  None of this makes sense.  Why would Trump want generals like Hitler’s?  They lost the war by invading Russia, failing at Stalingrad, missing D-Day for a birthday party, and one of them tried to assassinate him.  You may have contempt for Trump’s intelligence, but it’s inconsistent with how he communicates and what he’s said in the past.  He’s a relentless patriot.  Instead, it looks like backbiting by a general who is hurt that Trump didn’t just accept his advice and execute it, and a novice at politics who wants to parrot a DNC talking point.  Classic information laundering, and I think the American people are dismissing it out of hand because it’s just stupid.
