He thinks she nailed it. Trump has a dogfight on his hands, if he’s up to it.

Her speech was devoid of serious content.  Vibes, my ass.  She is going to run a “blank slate” campaign and let dreamy voters decide in their own hearts that for whch they are voting.  Unicorns and rainbows.  And price controls.

      Nate isn’t infallible.

that said, we are so screwed if people can’t see past Kamala’s kabuki campaign.

      Four thoughts:

      1. She’s never met a tax she didn’t like.
      2. She’s devoid of public policy decisions.
      3. She’s a flat-out disaster on her feet.
      4. Without Willie Brown, she doesn’t have a political entree.

The campaign engaged in one of the most emotionally manipulative uses of social media, floating a rumor that Beyonce or Taylor Swift was going to speak on the last night. That “special guest” rumor was flying all over the Internet, breathlessly spread by influencers, journalists, and operatives to hype things up. The fact that there were no consequences shows that it was a test for an even bigger hoax. October is going to be wild.

And then they report the higher ratings, caused by said stupid ridiculous rumors. Beyonce and Swift, like the rest of Hollywood, likely support Harris…my guess is that they are holding their “formal” support for when Trump starts to close the gap.

Harris’ utterings, btw, are so incredibly inane, they are forced to use them on their fundraising; e.g. “We love our country. And I believe it is the highest form of patriotism to fight for the ideas of our country.” The ideas of our country? Seriously? That came out of the mouth of a presidential candidate?

      Word salad at its not-so-finest.

Sounds about right. She’s trying to bait him into a, “I’m speaking” moment.

Interesting Silver take today. Kamala ticked up nationally…but lost ground in the forecast. Trump at his highest odds since July 30. Couple of reasons:

      1. It’s been a while since a poll showing Kamala leading in Pennsylvania…Mark Halperin (I had him speak at a law firm event, good guy, relatively middle of the road) says internal polling doesn’t look good in PA for Harris.
      2. Most incoming polls are below Silver’s current polling average for Harris. Not surprisingly, IMHO…she’s post-DNC bounce.
      3. They have Harris ahead by 3.4% nationally, with Trump ahead in AZ, FL, NC and TX and Harris ahead in GA, MI, NV, PA, VA and WI.
      4. Six swing state averages got closer last week for Repubs, only four for dems.

      Two more items:

      1. Strangely, Silver doesn’t address the fact that a substantial number of poll respondents don’t tell pollsters they will vote for Trump, thought it’s been a documented phenomenon in the last two elections.
      2. He says there is a high likelihood of a nightmare recount, like the 2000 Florida debacle.
