ParticipantIn my opinion, the use of OSHA to force employers to mandate vaccines or weekly testing is way unconstitutional. OSHA’s purpose is to protect workers from working conditions imposed or maintained by employers, not to implement national policy.
Also, although the media hyped the political divide (which even the NY Times acknowledged was not in the top 5 explanatory variables), this vaccine mandate will disproportionately affect the poor, the uneducated, and minorities.

Reminder to all White House reporters:
When Biden speaks down and sneers at the unvaccinated, he's talking to Americans who are disproportionately lower-income and minorities https://t.co/ArQvPvN2Rk pic.twitter.com/YufEqSXfT4

I still believe in individual liberties and limited government. This is madness.

LegendKeymasterI’m philosophically aligned to the need for people to take the vaccine, but am shocked that this sort of coercion from the federal government is legal.
There is a straight line causal relationship between some safety practices (steel-toed boots) and injury (crushed feet).
There is in no way any straight line workplace justification for forcing people to take a vaccine against a disease that is neither highly lethal nor highly likely to be transmitted in most workplaces with minor precautions in place.
Again, I’m for vaccines, but this seems like massive overreach.

ParticipantYep, lots to love in Joe’s speech if you are lawyer. this will end up in the USSC just like the CDCs rent moratorium.
I stop listening when I heard – “This will protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated.”

ParticipantYes. And I might add that the vaccine is so safe that you must be threatened to take it against a disease that is so deadly that you have to be tested to find out if you have it. And take shots and wear masks forever or suffer a huge fine and societal expulsion.
