ParticipantI told you months ago to keep an eye on Sri Lanka.
Well, the people have taken over the Presidential residence (palace).
Colombo, Sri Lanka right now. The Presidential Palace has been stormed, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is said to have fled. Unbelievable scenes. Live reports on @IndiaToday: https://t.co/p6JV6FzCub pic.twitter.com/8zlJdBfN2P

Two factors are at play here: 1) the World Economic Forum sold a bill of goods to the government

and 2) Chinese debt “development” and tightening of repayment left Sri Lanka in a terrible position.
Lankans storm the Presidential palace, renovated in 2015 by China that has financed most of Lanka’s dead assets & now owns 10% of the $55 billion debt. It offered a paltry $76 million as aid while India rushed with $3.5 billion. Choose your friends wisely. pic.twitter.com/3XmHusejEb

It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this. India may intervene further to stave off a refugee crisis, but the food shortages / riots in Sri Lanka won’t have a quick fix. If it’s the first domino to fall, the winter will be even more enlightening.

LegendKeymasterI hadn’t studied this closely but I sure hope we can send them billions in aid and maybe some oil from our strategic reserves.

ParticipantTake note Greta, Hollywood, and Prince Charles. This is what the reaction looks like to destructive green policies. They are saying anarchy is a better option than starvation.

I can’t believe anyone listens to those half-wits.

ParticipantGood explainer. In short, centrally planning / attempting to get easy credit by appealing to environmentalists / globalists created the crisis.

Definitely. Here in Washington, we are going to save the planet by taxing the hell out of anyone using fossil fuel.
Can there be a bigger scam than cap and trade? “Passed by the state Legislature in 2021, the Climate Commitment Act – Senate Bill 5126 – directs the Washington State Department of Ecology to develop and implement a statewide cap-and-trade program to cut carbon pollution by requiring emitters to obtain “emissions allowances” equal to their covered greenhouse gas emissions.”
Similar to stocks and bonds, these allowances can be obtained through quarterly auctions hosted by Ecology.”
So, the state is selling allowances to save the planet. Right. Another new tax by a different name.
In other news, Jay Inslee and his minions have the Biden administration on board with removing hydroelectric dams on the Snake River. There is some serious twisted logic to removing clean sources of power (when there is already a predicted generating capacity deficit) in order to save fish. An additional twist is 10% of America’s wheat crop is shipped via barge on the Snake. Transporting wheat would then be done by truck or train, a more expensive alternative to barges, and definitely less friendly to the environment.
Greenies look more like Keystone Cops chasing a bad guy while trying to save the planet. All they can promise is higher taxes and a lower standard of living at a higher cost for the middle and lower class.
Fun times await…..

ParticipantHow many solar panels and windmills do you need to replace the production of Columbia River dams? Maybe Inslee gunning for another run to replace Biden and angling for donations from greedy capitalist pigs like Hannon Armstrong.
