Tierna Davidson, Sophia Smith, Naomi Girma, and Crystal Dunn did not put their hands over their hearts for the anthem. Weird that 3/3 Stanford players chose not to acknowledge the anthem. After the World Cup, I figured they learned their lesson. Maybe not.

Contrast with the Euros and Copa America, where the men’s teams linked arms and sang their anthems.

A theory:  women can get away with more controversial and anti-patriotic swagger than men because women get a pass for doing stupid stuff more than men.

It’s a bit like the comedian bill burr’s bit on white women and activism. For some reason, white women are in a different category than white men when it comes to offenses of racial iniquity even though they have ridden right along with white men.  Why?  Unclear.

Privileged people born in the shadow of giants who paid in blood for their privileged pettiness. Just another sign in the continuing deterioration of the country. Watching American flags burn and crowds chanting “Death to America” while in America.

Disappointing. Stanford on this front is pretty disappointing, as well. . . .
