News this morning is that Trump pulls even with Harris in NBC News’ monthly poll at 48% to 48%, indicating Harris’ popularity is declining.

      Reasons are blindingly obvious:

      1. The VP doesn’t represent change from Joe Biden.
      2. Trump’s presidency is seen in a more positive light than Biden’s.

      Three other interesting elements:

      1. The September NBC poll had Harris ahead 49% to 44%.
      2. Trump gets a boost when third parties are added to the question.
      3. NBC News’ poll is one of the most left-leaning polls in existence:

Surprised to see News Nation as a lean to the left.  I felt it was the opposite.  Maybe I’ve lived on the west coast long enough a slight lean to the left looks like a lean to the right.  🙂

The rest of the country thinks we’re all a little bit unbalanced out here… :yahoo:

This is based on their polling cross tabs and past errors. Surprisingly, Fox News polls historically lean left as well.

      Good article.

Laughed at this ….”The reliability of the Fox News polling data has not been enough to reverse the DNC’s decision to shut the channel out of the primary debates. DNC Chairman Tom Perez has said he respects the Washington correspondents at Fox News but believes the network’s overall slant favors the Republicans. ”

Well, duh.  Much better to have CBS continue with it’s long history slanting and spinning news stories and interviews that someone get “wrongly edited.”

Had a disagreement with a friend of mine in the journalism biz over whether or not there was a bias in the news business. Not surprisingly, he felt that there was no bias.

I told him there were three kinds of bias: the overt kind of bias in which the writer expressed a specific opinion, basically editorials masquerading as news. But the other two were a shade more subtle.

First, the press gets to select the stories the want to push. That alone slants the news; e.g., the Russian hoax merits news coverage, but the Hunter Biden laptop does not. AYFKM? That alone decided the election.

Second, the press decides which questions to ask. Trump gets skewered with “have you stopped beating your wife” questions, and Harris gets gauzy, dreamy “tell us again how great you’ll be” questions. I don’t think I can take four years of Harris’ scared rabbit looks at the mildest of challenging questions.
