ParticipantIsrael and the UAE Strike ‘Historic’ Deal to Normalize Relations
Interesting that there were no leaks about this. Many Emeritis in the West are celebrating this, and it makes sense. I anticipate Saudi Arabia will be next, followed by Kuwait. Great news in the Middle East. There’s an opportunity in Lebanon if they’re willing to throw Hezbollah under the bus (not likely).

ParticipantObama would get another ( as well deserved)Nobel peace prize for this. Today, nothing to see.
re Lebanon/ Hezbollah. Many Lebanese would gladly throw them under the bus, but the political/ military leverage is highly skewed towards the hezb. So Lebanon will be the last to normalize though common sense dictates they should be the first. -

ParticipantI expect Russia to meddle in this. It is not in their interest for Israel to have normal diplomatic relations with it’s neighbors.
Besides a shared threat, I see this as an admission by Arab states Istrael is not going away.

rjnwmillParticipantBD, this is during the political craziness of our four year election cycle. Not surprising that Netanyahu would play ball with the Orange One. Can this also be viewed as a major FU to Biden and the Obama/Biden Iran Nuclear Deal by the leadership of both countries?
Edit: I just saw this in a news report about the deal.
“The United Arab Emirates and Israel will immediately expand and accelerate cooperation regarding the treatment of and the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus,” the White House said in a statement. “Working together, these efforts will help save Muslim, Jewish, and Christian lives throughout the region.”
Pretty opportunistic to use vaccine/therapeutics infrastructure to facilitate a deal of this importance. I can’t imagine China is too happy about their unintended consequences?

ParticipantHmm. Good point Bob. Netanyahu might see Biden as Obama 2.0. Maybe the October surprise is a gift from Israel?

And I thought you were joking. Biden actually did.

Rocky17ParticipantYes, Biden really did. Bob thinks I am a great comedian. I appreciate him. Wish I were. I am certainly not a great pundit.

rjnwmillParticipantRocky my friend, I knew your post was fact based & not a joke…on your part. I’m also certain everyone knows just how much the Sunni world appreciated the Iran nuclear deal and the authors thereof, Barak & Joe.
I appreciated you giving the folks here a good laugh with a timely Biden quote. And one that demonstrates his mental incapacity at that!
Please keep it up.
