Was on a conference call with a client in Israel this morning. All three of the Israelis on the call have already received the vaccine, and they are simple businessmen, not front line caregivers.

Our vaccines are sitting in freezers because the local authorities can’t figure out how to get them into arms.

I note the shrill cries against the feds seem to have gotten quieter and quieter.  Maybe it’s just because I’ve stopped listening.

As in all things, the last mile is hardest.  Still, the Dems can round up millions of additional votes in a day but can’t deliver a few million shots across big cities in a month??? What gives?   Oh, you actually have to have the people present to receive the shots.  Got it.

One problem is a lack of qualified people to give injections.  Evidently the requirements for sticking a needle in someone arm can’t be met by using EMTs, dental assistants, veterinarians etc.

Last night I heard a talking head suggest “stretching” the vaccine supply by giving only one shot, delaying the second.  Probably the dumbest thing I’ve heard in the last 4 years.  The vaccine on hand is not being administered for lack of trained people, but we are going to stretch the supply by administering one shot to more patients?

      How does that work?

This is a hoot.  As a user of insulin once a day and Trulicity once a week, I really don’t really understand the stupidity of this explanation/excuse.  Time for a Monty Python sketch I believe…

Well, a couple things.  1) Israel basically said, old people first, but if the vaccine is about to expire, anyone can get it, and 2) governors / locals didn’t want to take the same approach.  In fact, NY and CA both stated by executive order that there would be fines and license revocations for people who didn’t administer the vaccines according to schedule, then enacted all sorts of byzantine standards for administration.  Add onto that licensing requirements, and boom, barely any vaccines get distributed.

He’s right here.  This is ridiculous.  The more people, based on risk profile, vaccinated, the better.  No dose should be wasted, and more vaccinations is better than no vaccination.
